Title
White & Yellow Roses in a Tall Vase - After Fantin-Latour
Year
2019
Description
For the last couple of decades Christopher Kettle has focused solely on Still Life painting. White & Yellow Roses in a Tall Vase, inspired by French artist Henry Fantin-Latour, best known for his flower paintings, is one of Kettle's two first paintings to be exhibited at Whistleblower Gallery.
The delicacy of the flowers offers a starck contrast with the yellow and red geometrical shapes surrounding them and it's a nod to both past and present.
