Title
Untitled Work on Paper No'6
Description
This little gem is an early Work on paper by the artist Dan Baldwin.
A basic Baldwin Bio lifted off the web states about the artist: British contemporary artist Dan Baldwin (b. 1972, Manchester) began his artistic career at Eastbourne College of Art and Design in 1995, and later received a BA (Hons) from Kent Institute of Art and Design. After graduating he worked as a studio associate tutoring younger art students, and during this time started receiving commissions and moved to Brighton where he acquired his own studio. Pop Art has always been a major influence in Baldwin’s working practice, as have artists such as Sir Peter Blake, Jean-Michael Basquiat, David Hockney, and Robert Rauschenberg.
This piece is one of set produced in Brighton in 2010 when the artist was experimenting with screenprinting directly onto canvas. He produced a set of pieces on paper which after being printed on were taken back to his studio to be worked on, beginning of the artists 'works on paper' which he continues to this day. This piece contains some of the artists characteristic elements from this period from screenprint to applied found objects. A perfectly formed and unique piece by the artist.
Signed at the base in pencil, from a set of ten unique pieces
