Description

Solitude could be classed as part of The Languages of the Walls' series by Stanley Donwood. The Languages of the Walls are inspired partly by the photographs of Parisian graffiti taken by Brassaï and partly by eroded walls in conflict-torn areas. Solitude was made by the artist with the Ancient Greek myth Theseus and the Minotaur in mind. The piece was made during the artist's stay at the gallery for his solo show, Watermarks, Works Made with the Weather, currently taking place at Whistleblower Gallery.
