Description
Ribbons and String is a small graphite work by Davies, showcasing her deft pencil technique and masterful use of tone,  an excellent example of the artist’s drawing practice.
 
The piece depicts her hound form alongside symbols from her distinct canon of imagery. The masked dog’s face is pulled away to reveal the face of a woman, while the dog’s body bears three clawed marks from an earlier encounter. Braided hair twists its way through the composition, adding depth.
 
Much of the artist’s work draws on the myths and lore of our past, interpreted through her own sensibility. Her pieces are unmistakably her own and transport the viewer into her unique realm.
