Description
This is an early Work on paper by the Dan Baldwin.
A basic Baldwin Bio lifted off the web states about the artist: British contemporary artist Dan Baldwin (b. 1972, Manchester) began his artistic career at Eastbourne College of Art and Design in 1995, and later received a BA (Hons) from Kent Institute of Art and Design. After graduating he worked as a studio associate tutoring younger art students, and during this time started receiving commissions and moved to Brighton where he acquired his own studio. Pop Art has always been a major influence in Baldwin’s working practice, as have artists such as Sir Peter Blake, Jean-Michael Basquiat, David Hockney, and Robert Rauschenberg.
This piece in its bold black pigment is one of set produced in Brighton in 2007, making it an early example of his experiments with screenprinting. He produced a set of pieces on paper, beginning of the artists 'works on paper' which he continues to this day.
Signed at the base in pencil from a set of seven unique pieces on paper.
