Description
This beautifully carved rosewood block depicts The Green Man. This original traditional printing block has been intricately hand-carved using hammer and chisel into a block of rosewood, then inked up and used to print onto paper and fabric. It has then been inked up one final time.
 
Treubhan’s work explores traditional customs and storytelling.
The Green Man, also known as a foliate head, is primarily interpreted as a symbol of rebirth, representing the cycle of new growth that occurs every spring.
