Description
Following on from his previous body of work, Jon Link continues his exploration of line and repetition with this new series of ink on wood paintings.
Working directly onto the wooden surface, Link builds each composition through linear marks. Layers of ink are carefully worked into the grain, creating subtle tonal shifts and rich transitions that give the work a remarkable sense of luminosity and depth. 
Each piece is presented in a hand-crafted white tray frame, made by the artist specifically for the work. The frame becomes an integral part of the finished object, echoing the care and precision that characterise Link's practice.
These new works demonstrate an artist continuing to refine his visual language, reducing image to line, tone and rhythm while retaining craftsmanship that defines his work.
