Celaeno

Description
Celaeno is a small watercolour by Davies, showcasing her wonderful brushwork, tonal sensitivity, and mark making in this intimate study.
The piece depicts Celaeno, daughter of Ergea by Poseidon and a lesser-known Harpy of folklore. An Amazon slain by Heracles during his ninth labour, she is shown here in her final moments.
Much of the artist’s work draws on the myths and lore of our past, interpreted through her own sensibility. Her pieces are unmistakably her own and transport the viewer into her unique realm.
