Description
Arassas is a glorious small painting by Davies, a wonderful example of the artist’s skill as a painter. It features her distinctive palette, intricate brushwork, and a hand-painted edge.
 
The piece depicts Arassas, a four-legged, cat-faced “mountain dragon” from the folklore of the Hautes-Alpes region in France.
 
Much of the artist’s work draws on the myths and lore of our past, interpreted through her own sensibility. Her pieces are unmistakably her own and transport the viewer into her unique realm.
