Description
This acrylic and gloss paint on canvas is perhaps one of Adam Neate's most defining examples of Dimensionalism, a pictoric style which the painter has been exploring and expanding upon since 2008. 
 
​Neate's use of a varied array of colours, textures and a skilled juxtaposition of layers give this figurative piece a somewhat multi-dimensional quality which changes with the moving light and viewer's point of view.
 
Without a doubt, Portrait 2008 is a seminal piece and therefore part of the artist's earlier body of work which influenced later developments.
