Sean Parry

BIOGRAPHY
EXHIBITIONS
Sean Parry was born in 1986 in the coastal town of Llandudno, North Wales. From an early age, he was captivated by ancient history, mythology, symbology, and the creative arts—an enduring fascination that would shape both his life and career. After earning a degree in Fine Arts in 2009, Sean turned his passion into profession, becoming a full-time tattoo artist.
In 2016, he founded Sacred Knot Tattoo, a studio based in his hometown that specialises in historically inspired art styles. As the studio’s lead artist, Sean is known for his intricate, reverent interpretations of ancient motifs, drawing from Norse, Celtic, and other early European traditions.
Outside the tattoo studio, Sean is a dedicated researcher and multidisciplinary artist. His creative practice includes painting, carving, jewellery-making, and music—all deeply informed by his exploration of ancestral cultures and their visual languages. His work seeks to build a bridge between the ancient and the modern, bringing forgotten symbolism and stories into contemporary relevance.
“Museums are where ancient people speak to us. They’re temples of communication from the artists of the past to us in the present. The only thing that separates us is time. You just have to know how to listen. It starts with respect and attention to detail.” — Sean Parry
