PISSPOTPOURRI! by Modern Toss
Whistleblower Gallery presents: Modern Toss, 'Pisspotpourri!' A new collection of prints, original work, sculpture and video. A pungent collision of new and old sh*t that is connected and yet somehow disconnected.
This exhibition was going to be opening as part of the wonderful Brighton Fringe Festival. However, due to a worldwide pandemic, the festival had to be postponed.
We will be part of the festival when it opens again, meanwhile, the show must go on... VIRTUALLY.
On May 14 our gallery held an 'opening' on Whistleblower Gallery's LIVE Instagram.
Thanks to all who attended!
The gallery will be offering Private Viewings on Zoom as well as regular Instagram LIVE hook ups.
There will be new work appearing every week on this page with previous announcements on Whistleblower Gallery's Instagram.
Who the fuck is Modern Toss?
The scurrilous, global cult comic Modern Toss is the work of Jon Link and Mick Bunnage. As writers, cartoonists, and animators they’ve taken Modern Toss in many different directions - from challenging late night television to cutting edge advertising, and from international design magazines to greeting card racks.
In 2014 a Kickstarter campaign for their 10th anniversary book ‘A Decade in the Shithouse’ became the UK’s second biggest ever comic crowdfunding success, exceeding their target within 48 hours of going live. The book 'A Decade in the Shithouse' is now in it's third reprint and is described by the Guardian as a 'contemporary cartoon classic'.
"Badly drawn, utterly foul-mouthed, mean spirited and misanthropic... also very, very funny." The Independent on Sunday
"Modern Toss is the Bach of comedy." The Daily Telegraph
"Takes you to areas of the brain seldom visited." The Times
"A pure-gold anarchist's doodle pad with a rare quality - an imagination all its own." The Metro
"Barely serviceable drawings." The Guide
The Whistleblower Gallery team has been working with Modern Toss for over a decade. We are really happy to be working once again to bring you a stunning, irreverent, beautiful and funny collection of print and original work.
